Job Type: Part-time

Description: Iowa City Hospice Inc is expanding and is in search of a dedicated part-time PRN Hospice Physician to provide essential medical support to patients facing life-limiting conditions.

As a Hospice Physician, your primary role will be to deliver comprehensive medical care and emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive optimal care tailored to their individual needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing thorough patient evaluations and creating personalized care strategies
  • Administering medical treatment and support to individuals with terminal illnesses
  • Addressing symptoms and ensuring effective pain management for patients
  • Engaging with patients and their families to address their concerns and requirements
  • Working alongside a team of healthcare experts to provide holistic care
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of patient care and progress in medical records
  • Participating in team meetings to review patient care and treatment strategies

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution
  • Preferred board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • Current medical license in Iowa
  • Experience in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is advantageous
  • Special consideration for candidates who are bilingual
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team setting
  • Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care
