Primary Objective:

The Hotel Front Desk Agent is tasked with the essential role of greeting guests in a swift and courteous manner. As the first point of contact for visitors upon their arrival, this position involves managing check-ins and check-outs, distributing room keys, addressing inquiries, and processing payments for hotel amenities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promptly attend to all guest inquiries and requests with professionalism.
  • Follow established protocols for Front Desk operations, including guest registration, room allocations, VIP arrangements, cash handling, and phone inquiries.
  • Encourage guests to utilize hotel amenities and services.
  • Maintain knowledge of the local area to provide guests with information on services, attractions, and facilities.
  • Effectively resolve guest concerns and follow up to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Oversee and report on the cleanliness and appearance of the lobby area.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping for timely service delivery to guests.
  • Manage staffing in accordance with budgetary and operational needs.
  • Safeguard guests' valuables and promote safe working practices.
  • Upsell additional services and amenities when appropriate.
  • Comply with all Front Desk policies and procedures.
  • Report any suspicious activities and maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Proficiency in English is essential. A minimum of one year of experience in a comparable hotel role is necessary. Basic math and computer skills are required, along with familiarity with business telephone etiquette.

Skills: Must be detail-oriented, organized, and efficient. A quick learner with a strong awareness of safety protocols is essential. Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills are required. Must be a team player with the ability to work independently and be trustworthy and dependable.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk throughout shifts, with the ability to remain on feet for extended periods. The role may involve handling objects weighing up to 75 lbs. and occasional bending, stooping, and reaching as part of job duties.
