Role Overview

As a Boiler Technician, your primary responsibilities will include the maintenance, repair, and installation of boiler systems in both commercial and residential settings. A solid understanding of boiler construction, systems, and safety protocols is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial boiler and HVAC systems up to 1000HP.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues in commercial boiler systems, including oil-fired and gas-fired boilers along with their control systems.
  • Exhibit a strong grasp of combustion settings for both oil and gas boilers.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of boiler systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on various types and brands of boilers and burners.
  • Work across multiple markets including healthcare, hospitality, higher education, and manufacturing.
  • Manage hydronic, domestic hot water, and steam systems, including high and low-pressure steam systems, DA and feedwater tanks, and pumping systems.
  • Open and close boilers for inspections and perform cleaning of boiler tubes.
  • Check and clean all safety mechanisms on the boilers.
  • Initiate startup procedures and set combustion parameters.
  • Document and log temperatures, amperage, and voltage on boiler systems.
  • Utilize tablet-based service ticket software effectively.
  • Be available for overtime and participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Journeyman license.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with commercial boilers.
  • Experience in commercial and industrial gas/oil heat service.
  • Background in commercial and/or industrial HVAC replacement.
  • Experience in healthcare facilities is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of control systems and wiring, including parallel positioning.
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor, ethical standards, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
