Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, promoting optimal recovery and comfort.
  • Collect and record patient data, including vital signs, weights, and measurements, to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Report changes in patient condition and abnormal findings to registered nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility, ensuring safe and efficient care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including medical record duties, supply management, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and support.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands

The job requires frequent bending and stooping, proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills, attention to detail, and ability to write legibly. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
