Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures relevant to the role; engaging in necessary safety training; demonstrating a commitment to safety, health, and environmental principles.
  • Offering expert knowledge in automation and control systems.
  • Facilitating technical and engineering communications between stakeholders regarding automation and control systems.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and lifecycle management of automation systems, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met and that vendors provide services that align with established quality standards.
  • Supporting the configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and programming of control systems.
  • Assisting maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving complex issues that arise during maintenance operations.
  • Contributing to the development of various technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, network layouts, and control narratives.
  • Participating in safety reviews and providing input to ensure adequate layers of protection are in place.
  • Conducting regular meetings with operations and maintenance teams to ensure that automation designs meet operational needs and comply with industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced degrees in technical or business fields are preferred but not mandatory.
  • 2-3 years of experience in automation, instrumentation, and process controls within the petrochemical, refining, or oil and gas sectors. Experience in liquid storage terminals is advantageous but not essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems, including design, configuration, installation, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
  • General understanding of industrial automation standards, including ISA 88 and IEC61511, as well as relevant codes.
  • Knowledge of major tank gauging systems and associated industry standards is beneficial.
  • Experience in safety-critical process environments with a strong grasp of health, safety, environmental, and security principles.
  • Understanding of terminal operations and processes is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments effectively.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in creating and delivering presentations.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Detail-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective planning and organizational abilities.
  • A collaborative team player.
