Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately verify client and specimen information.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in patient data and requisitions.
  • Perform aliquoting and labeling of specimens with precision.
  • Utilize centrifugation techniques for specimen preparation.
  • Respond to phone inquiries promptly, adhering to company standards.
  • Monitor the work environment for safety hazards and address issues proactively.
  • Assist colleagues by providing timely responses to inquiries and instructions.
  • Ensure high accuracy in data entry and specimen identification.
  • Receive and process samples from various sources efficiently.
  • Uphold specimen integrity from collection through to transfer to technical staff.
  • Translate physician orders and diagnoses accurately.
  • Package samples for external laboratories as required.
  • Generate and distribute reports as needed.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and quality assurance measures.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives.
  • Follow HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Attend to other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: High level of accuracy, detail-oriented, ability to follow strict protocols, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations and specimen management.
