Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead all aspects of and manage complex construction projects at Amgen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and construction principles, with a proven track record of delivering projects safely, efficiently, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee and manage the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Ensure all construction activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and Amgen standards, while meeting required quality and safety standards and staying on schedule.
* Lead project teams and manage contractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and scope.
* Review and approve cost estimates, budgets, and contracts, ensuring proper checks and balances are in place.
* Conduct regular progress reviews, providing updates to management and addressing any issues that may arise.
* Collaborate with internal partners, including engineering, facilities, and leadership, to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution.

Requirements:

* Doctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering or Scientific experience, or
* Master's degree and 4 years of Engineering or Scientific experience, or
* Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of Engineering or Scientific experience, or
* Associate Degree and 10 years of Engineering or Scientific experience, or
* High School diploma/GED and 12 years of Engineering or Scientific experience.
* Strong construction management experience with a detailed understanding of engineering and construction principles.
* Leadership experience managing diverse teams, especially in pharmaceutical/biotechnology or related industries.
* Familiarity with Lean Construction and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
* Experience in managing budgets, schedules, and contracts.
* Extensive experience in portfolio management.
* Strong ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, partners, and contractors.
