Job Title: Emergency Department Ambassador

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Emergency Department Ambassador to join our team at Singing River Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit
* Serve as a liaison between staff and guests/patients, facilitating communication and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
* Escort and direct guests to their destinations, providing assistance and support as needed
* Round on patient care and waiting areas, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained
* Provide information and assistance to patients and families, addressing their needs and concerns

Requirements

* High School diploma or equivalent required; Bilingual skills desired
* Previous work experience in a healthcare setting preferred; customer service experience desired
* Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
* Must be able to adapt communication and interaction to age-specific needs and high-stress situations

Working Conditions

* Work is moderately active, involving sitting and frequent movement throughout the facility
* Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
* Must be able to perceive sound at normal speaking levels and make fine discriminations in sound
* Must be able to work schedules assigned, with changes possible according to the needs of the hospital

Physical and Mental Demands

* Must be able to maintain a high level of physical and mental energy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Must possess emotional stability and the ability to deal with high-stress situations
* Must be able to maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations

Special Demands

* Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette
* Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages

Education and Certification

* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Bilingual skills desired
* Clinical/Nursing/EMT background desired
* Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days)
