Job Summary

Providence College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Ancient Roman History (Republic or Early Imperial) to join our esteemed faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate survey courses in Greek and Roman history, as well as all levels of Greek and Latin.
  • Contribute to the Development of Western Civilization program as part of the regular 3-3 teaching load.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary and/or team teaching, with a focus on innovative pedagogy.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Ancient History or a related field by the date of appointment.
  • Strong research and teaching background in Ancient Roman History, with a focus on the Republic or Early Imperial period.
  • Ability to contribute to the department's curriculum development and assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in interdisciplinary and/or team teaching.
  • Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
