Lead Our Data Plane Teams

We're seeking a seasoned Engineering Leader to oversee our data plane teams, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our databases across multiple clouds.

As a key member of our Engineering organization, you will lead multiple database storage engine and infrastructure teams, building a data plane that can scale to thousands of databases.

You will be responsible for sustained recruitment of top-tier talent, promoting a synergistic team structure, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Improving Databricks reliability, performance, and efficiency
  • Growing a world-class team of software engineers working on query optimization
  • Evolving organizational structure to align with long-term projects

Requirements include:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a related system with an emphasis on storage technologies and database internals
  • Experience with database systems, storage systems, distributed systems, language design, query optimization, and performance
  • BS in Computer Science (Masters or higher level of education preferred)
