Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload bulk chemicals from rail or trucks and ISO containers
  • Operate equipment such as pumps, piping, hoses, valves, steam, and heat trace to unload and load rail or trucks and ISO containers
  • Transfer non-hazardous and hazardous materials from one vessel to another
  • Perform autonomous maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, and tightening to maintain equipment base condition
  • Lead or support continuous improvement activities through established methods
  • Maintain housekeeping requirements and 5S standards
  • Perform washouts, changeovers, and cleaning and sanitization of facilities and equipment
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
  • Act and be safe at all times
  • Understand and adhere to all task, departmental, site, and company safety rules or standards
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Comply with all customer, regulatory, and quality requirements in the performance of all tasks
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Preferred: Position-specific vocational education/experience, training, or certification
  • Preferred: Experience working as a bulk operator, in a manufacturing or warehouse setting, or with sit-down forklift experience
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., accessing networks, accessing files, inputting or modifying data, printing files)
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work on top of tanks up to 70 feet in height
  • Able to work in ambient temperatures (high and low)
  • Able to work a 12-hour shift as needed
  • Able to change elevation using ramps, stairs, and ladders
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods (e.g., greater than one hour)
  • Able to independently lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis during shift
Performance Measures and Standards
  • Measure and calculate materials through basic arithmetic and strapping charts
  • Perform and follow all procedures, including proper documentation, of processed product
  • Operate equipment to unload and load rail or trucks and ISO containers
  • Operate material handling equipment for non-hazardous and hazardous materials
  • Transfer non-hazardous and hazardous materials from one vessel to another
  • Ability to control equipment through Human Machine Interface and manual equipment
  • Perform autonomous maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, and tightening to maintain equipment base condition
  • Lead or support continuous improvement activities through established methods
  • Maintain housekeeping requirements and 5S standards
  • Perform washouts, changeovers, and cleaning and sanitization of facilities and equipment
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
  • Act and be safe at all times
  • Understand and adhere to all task, departmental, site, and company safety rules or standards
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Comply with all customer, regulatory, and quality requirements in the performance of all tasks
