Project Accountant Job Description

Conor Commercial Real Estate is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger and accounts payable
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Perform financial analysis and budgeting, including variance analysis and forecasting
  • Assist with acquisitions and dispositions, including entries for various assets
  • Review and verify accounting documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Execute month-end and year-end closure processes, including analysis and reconciliation
  • Prepare bank account reconciliations, fixed asset, and depreciation schedules
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with Development Management, Loan and Joint Venture Agreements
  • Prepare capital calls and construction loan draws
  • Process invoices, including coding, support examination, data entry, and check preparation
  • Prepare 1099 forms at year-end
  • Collaborate with joint venture owners, development teams, and general contractors regarding billing and funding of projects
  • Assist Controller with activities and requirements of external auditors
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and minimum 3 years' related experience. CPA preferred
  • Real Estate and/or Construction industry experience preferred
  • Intermediate Excel skills required
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Sage, Timberline, or other Project Management/Accounting software experience a plus
  • Full-time/in-office position
