MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society is in search of a dedicated Pediatric Gastroenterologist to enhance our esteemed team.

This role presents a remarkable opportunity to engage in a dynamic academic career focused on pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. The position encourages involvement in various areas such as research, quality enhancement, community engagement, resident training, leadership roles, and administrative responsibilities.

Our current team consists of experienced pediatric gastroenterologists, supported by a robust group of healthcare professionals including nurse practitioners, dietitians, research coordinators, social workers, and clinical coordinators, all contributing to a thriving division.

We are backed by a comprehensive array of pediatric subspecialists, facilitating an integrated GI/Surgery program with particular emphasis on Motility, Polyposis, Short Gut/Intestinal Rehabilitation, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Our division is home to specialized Centers addressing Feeding Disorders, Celiac Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Intestinal Rehabilitation, and complex Motility disorders. We also maintain a strong clinical and research focus on Disorders of Brain-Gut Interactions, Celiac disease, and Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Diseases, playing a vital role in the multidisciplinary care of patients with cystic fibrosis and Aerodigestive disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in pediatric GI and hepatology disorders, demonstrating proficiency in a wide range of pediatric GI endoscopic and other procedural skills, alongside exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
