Role Responsibilities and Requirements
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Johnston-Willis Hospital equips you with the necessary tools to thrive in today’s healthcare environment. This compensated program facilitates your transition from academia to clinical practice through a structured series of educational experiences, including:
- Specialized clinical training in a focused area.
- Monthly educational workshops.
- Hands-on mentorship with an assigned preceptor.
- Skill assessment through practical simulations.
- Guidance from experienced nursing leaders.
- Collaboration on evidence-based practice initiatives.
The RN Resident is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with departmental standards and practices. Collaborating with medical professionals and care teams, the RN Resident provides tailored, compassionate care using established nursing frameworks.
Key Duties:
- Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout shifts, promptly reporting any changes.
- Execute medical procedures and document care accurately in patient records.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
- Provide exceptional service by addressing patient needs proactively.
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the state.
- No prior experience required.
- Some travel may be necessary for training purposes.
