Highly Skilled Project Management Expert for Complex Infrastructure Initiatives

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Deputy Project Management Lead to join our West Transportation team in Tacoma, WA. As a key member of our project management team, you will oversee complex projects and support project management initiatives to meet client expectations and organizational standards.
About the Role:
The Assistant VP, Deputy Project Management Lead will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the administrative, commercial, and technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and company standards.
- Oversseeing cross-functional project teams, managing project budgets, schedules, resources, and risk registers to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
- Maintaining client satisfaction by providing regular updates, overseeing quality control, and mitigating project risks.
- Supporting project execution through earned value analysis, monitoring actual vs. planned spending, and tracking project metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will assist in developing detailed project proposals, budgets, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource plans. You will also prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules and compliance records. Additionally, you will coordinate with senior project managers for project-level staffing needs, procurement, and document control, ensuring all deliverables meet established requirements.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
You will act as a liaison between the project team and client, supporting client communications, project updates, and issue resolution. You will also prepare and facilitate project meetings, manage agenda setting, and capture meeting notes and action items.
Financial and Resource Management:
You will monitor project budgets, cash flows, and accounts receivable to ensure financial targets are met. You will also oversee cost control measures, manage budget forecasts, and ensure contract compliance through accurate invoicing and budget-tracking software inputs.
Team Mentorship and Development:
You will update key staff resumes and project descriptions, supporting staff as necessary in documenting roles and responsibilities. You will also conduct project closeout activities, document lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years total experience, preferably in a public agency or private consulting infrastructure-related environment.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Excel) and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and client management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and collaborate across departments.
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is $125,200 - $186,010, depending on qualifications and experience.
