Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with respiratory disorders, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other cardiopulmonary conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care, including monitoring and evaluating patient progress.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, such as arterial blood gas analysis and spirometry.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize respiratory care practices.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
