Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Math Interventionist to join our team at RePublic Schools. As a Math Interventionist, you will play a critical role in providing targeted support to scholars who require additional math instruction to succeed in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the specific math needs and challenges faced by each scholar. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) or personalized learning strategies that cater to the unique needs of each scholar.
  • Instructional Strategies: Utilize specialized instructional strategies that are effective for scholars with disabilities. This may involve using multi-sensory approaches, concrete manipulatives, visual aids, and technology that supports learning.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to the scholar's education. Provide regular progress updates and adjust teaching methods and learning objectives based on the scholar's progress and feedback from other educators and parents.
  • Resource Development: Develop and adapt resources that are accessible and appropriate for scholars with various disabilities. This may include creating or sourcing large-print materials, audio recordings, or digital resources that are compatible with screen readers.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research and developments in math education and special education.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 3 years of continuous teaching experience in mathematics
  • Certification: Must meet certification requirements by the time employment begins (Mississippi teaching license or equivalent)
