Senior Cyber Capability Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Capability Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a member of our elite team of reverse engineers, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with world-class experts to solve the hardest offensive cyber problems.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strong background in reverse engineering, software and hardware, and a proven track record of developing innovative exploits. You will be responsible for:
- Reverse engineering Embedded systems and developing innovative exploits
- Collaborating with government sponsors and operators to build mission-aligned capabilities
- Exploring novel techniques for automating reverse engineering and exploit development
- Proposing groundbreaking ideas for internal and external funding opportunities
- Mentoring early-career teammates in the art and science of reverse engineering
- Sharing knowledge by clearly articulating ideas through papers and presentations to team members, APL management, and government decision makers
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Skills with software debuggers and static analysis tools such as Ghidra, IDA, and Binary Ninja
- Proficiency with one or more programming languages
- Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and Embedded systems development toolchains
- The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance by your start date and ultimately obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
