Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a correctional facility setting. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions, and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare practitioners.
  • Implementation and Evaluation: Implement treatment plans, administer medications, and perform various medical procedures as directed by healthcare practitioners, while maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Patient Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health and wellness, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with healthcare practitioners, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the state of employment.
  • Experience: Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience.
  • Certifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a clean, well-lit environment with fluctuating temperatures. You will be required to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds, push and pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds, and walk and stand for extended periods. You will also be required to negotiate stairs and lift patients in and out of bed, wheelchair, and/or stretcher. Potential exposure to blood and/or body substances and hazardous materials requires observance of Standard Precautions and safe handling practices.
