Electrical Project Manager Job Description

As an Electrical Project Manager at Insight Global, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing electrical construction projects from start to finish. Your primary goal will be to ensure that projects are completed safely, profitably, and on time, while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities by networking, establishing, and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Promote a positive company culture by fostering friendly and constructive employee relations.
  • Work with the Purchasing Department and vendors to ensure effective material procurement and coordination.
  • Attend all required internal and external project meetings.
  • Participate in field staff performance review process and conduct effective employee performance reviews.
  • Manage all aspects of project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, contract drawings, and project communication.
  • Negotiate subcontracts, generate scopes of work, and initiate the internal process to generate the subcontract.
  • Manage sub-tiered subcontractors to ensure their scope is performed accurately, safely, and at a high quality.
  • Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
  • Prepare change order requests, project reports, and documentation.
  • Review daily reports generated by foremen and approve time entered by foremen.
  • Consistently walk jobsites with foremen and crew to verify progress, quality, and safety.
  • Assist in preconstruction as required by project assignment.
  • Establish the project budget and manpower forecast with the foreman/superintendent.
  • Complete monthly financial projections on time and review with Vice President of Operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Construction, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields.
  • 5 years of experience in the electrical field and 1 year of electrical estimating experience.
  • 1+ years of experience within Construction Project Management.
  • Proficient in managing project budgets and financials.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Up to 25% travel if needed.
