Job Summary

The Veterinary Receptionist is a vital member of our team, responsible for providing exceptional client service and support to our veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members. This role requires a friendly and professional demeanor, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet clients and pets with a smile and a positive attitude
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally, handling client inquiries and providing knowledgeable advice on animal care and veterinary services
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries, making confirmation calls as needed
  • Enter accurate charges and collect payment from clients, explaining invoices and services provided
  • Verify client eligibility for charge accounts and check medical records for accuracy
  • Fill prescriptions and provide routine administration instructions to clients
  • Advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, and other retail items
Requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to our core values of compassion, teamwork, and excellence
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and handle stressful situations
  • Working knowledge of veterinary terminology and computer literacy
  • Ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members, even in busy or hectic situations
  • Must feel and express a genuine liking for animals and their owners, and for working in an animal care field
