Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working closely with our multidisciplinary team to maintain natural and artificial airways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply scientific principles for the identification, prevention, and remediation of pulmonary and cardiopulmonary dysfunction
  • Provide and coordinate the delivery of medical gases
  • Administer aerosolized medications
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to maintain natural and artificial airways
  • Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as part of a multidisciplinary code team
  • Perform pulmonary function testing (spirometry, lung volumes, diffusing capacity, MIPS/MEPS, pre/post bronchodilator testing)
  • Perform exercise oximetry testing
  • Provide education of respiratory care procedures and respiratory related issues to patients and families
  • Provide consultation services and teaching of respiratory related issues to other providers as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance, daily calibration, and quality control procedures on complex pulmonary function testing equipment
  • Complete documentation of all necessary information related to patient care, treatments administered, and responses to treatment in the electronic medical record
  • Maintain appropriate department records (competencies, certifications etc.)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of the Respiratory Care Department
Requirements
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Respiratory Therapist experience
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist program
  • Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist state license
  • One year of Epic experience

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks
