The Opportunity

At Five Star Senior Living, we're dedicated to enriching and inspiring the lives of our residents. As a Certified Caregiver - Medication Aide, you'll play a vital role in supporting our community's residents with their daily needs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver routine daily medications to residents, ensuring accurate dosages and times
  • Record medication dosages and times, maintaining accurate records
  • Observe residents and document changes in their condition, reporting any concerns to nursing staff
  • Gather samples for analysis, maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Uphold all health and safety standards, following federal, state, and agency regulations
  • Coordinate with nursing staff to assist with resident care and medications
  • Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications, ensuring resident safety
  • Respond to resident emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify residents' needs
  • Protect confidential client information, promoting resident safety and welfare
  • Seek guidance from nursing staff as needed to perform tasks safely and efficiently
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Aide course and approval to assist with or administer oral and external medications, per state regulations
  • Demonstrate competency to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, although mandatory in certain states
  • Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old, or the age required by state regulations, whichever is higher
  • Working experience alone, on a team, and on projects start to finish
  • Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills
  • Dedication to the medical field, especially towards working with residents
  • Pass State and company background checks and drug test
