Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for diverse markets, including mission-critical, communications, commercial, and government sectors.
- Act as Project Engineer on projects, responsible for complete electrical systems design according to code.
- Collaborate with internal and external disciplines, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, and equipment suppliers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct regular job site observations and provide detailed reports of findings.
- Consult on areas such as facility diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility reports.
- Design electrical distribution systems, lighting controls, and other electrical infrastructure with minimal direction from Director.
- Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors to ensure compliance and project success.
- Participate in project and client meetings to provide updates and insights.
- Prepare electrical load calculations, addendum information, and other project documents.
- Produce drawings consistent with client requirements and industry standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and engineers.
- Recognize potential project problems and seek advice from Project Manager and Director.
- Research design options and document findings.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final check.
- Take responsible charge for projects within their discipline.
- Travel to project sites and meetings as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with individuals and groups.
- Ability to think ahead and anticipate project needs.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and BIM.
- Thorough knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and ability to make informed selections.
- Expert familiarity with industry codes and standards, including ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.
- Experience working in 3D model environments.
- Professional Engineering license is a plus.
- Strong experience with engineering software packages, such as Revit, CAD, etc.
