Responsibilities

Summary:

The Human Resources Specialist will oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department, which includes recruiting and interviewing personnel, managing benefits, and enforcing organizational policies and practices.

  • Addresses employment-related inquiries from candidates, employees, and supervisors, directing complex and/or sensitive issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation and employee recognition initiatives.
  • Conducts recruitment, interviews, and assists in the hiring process of qualified candidates for available positions; collaborates with departmental leaders to identify necessary skills and competencies for vacancies.
  • Performs background checks and verifies employee eligibility.
  • Assists in educating and enrolling employees in all available company benefit programs.
  • Executes routine tasks essential for administering and implementing human resource programs, including disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and investigations; performance and talent management; employee recognition, morale, and training and development.
  • Monitors, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and optional training requirements.
  • May participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommends best practices; reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Stays informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in human resources is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in benefits administration is preferred.
