We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Stafford Brooks Consulting in Richmond, VA.
Job Description- This role involves providing exceptional care and support to patients and their families in an emergency veterinary setting.
- Assist veterinarians and other healthcare professionals with patient exams, treatments, and surgeries.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Operate medical equipment, including anesthesia machines and surgical instruments.
- Provide emotional support and education to clients and their pets.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure seamless care and communication.
- Bachelor's degree in animal science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting, preferably in emergency or critical care.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and protocols.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Average salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year.
