Position: Accounting Manager


The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This includes the generation of regular financial reports, maintaining a robust system of accounting records, and implementing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets aimed at minimizing risk, improving the accuracy of financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the complete cycle of month-end closing activities and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate account reconciliations are maintained.
  • Drive profitability enhancements through product costing, variance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safeguard assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for senior management, along with any additional special reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with site and division leaders to assist in the preparation of monthly and annual sales forecasts.
  • Actively participate as a member of the site leadership team, fostering relationships with business partners.
  • Promptly notify senior management of any unforeseen financial developments affecting the company's status.
  • Conduct audits to monitor and confirm financial conditions, providing necessary information to external auditors.
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommending plans.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Provide updates on financial conditions by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Compile special reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
  • Approve financial allocations for specific projects.
  • Communicate with senior management regarding financial decisions.
  • Assist shared services in ensuring timely collection of Accounts Receivable and payment of Accounts Payable.
  • Ensure completion of intercompany cash reconciliations.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and an organized accounting filing system.
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting and Management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of senior accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • CPA license or experience in public accounting is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production reports and financial documents.
  • Proficient in responding to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Skilled in writing and delivering presentations to various audiences.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely to management and staff.
  • Strong computer, mathematical, reading, and writing skills.
  • Adept at defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Capable of interpreting a wide range of financial information efficiently.
