- Interpret and communicate departmental policies, procedures, and philosophies to employees, patients, and families.
- Recruit, interview, and select department employees, providing orientation and training to ensure a smooth transition.
- Monitor supply expenditures, revenue, and expenses, ensuring budgetary compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible outcomes for the Medical Center.
- Ensure vendor compliance with Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize the utilization of new products and technologies.
- Conduct comparison studies and develop uniformity between campuses.
- Document and compile statistical data, providing insights for quality improvement and strategic planning.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with established HRS/JCAHO requirements.
- Participate in ongoing Quality Control programs and procedures, ensuring excellence in patient care.
- Disseminate pertinent departmental information to staff, promoting a culture of transparency and open communication.
- Review and monitor the department charge master, staying current with coding changes.
- Act as liaison to physicians' billing staff, office staff, and Medical Director, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Prepare and distribute daily workload volume reports to relevant stakeholders.
- R.C.D.S. licensure/registration/certification
- Bachelor's degree in Science or equivalent, with proficiency in English, typing, and computer operation
- 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience in a related field, with effective communication and leadership skills
