Special Education Teacher, Autism Program Specialist

The Special Education Autism Teacher is a key member of our team, responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the assigned classroom program. This role requires a lead classroom teacher who can provide classroom leadership and work in cooperation with assigned classroom staff.
Key Responsibilities- Educational Instruction: Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the individualized behavioral, academic, and social needs of each student enrolled in the classroom.
- Progress Reporting: Collect, prepare, and present behavioral and academic data on each child in the classroom, maintaining behavioral data and applying statistical analysis as required by program standards to measure student progress.
- Lesson Plans: Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect best practice in specialized educational instruction.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in special education and/or secondary education, specializing in teaching children with one or more of the following: behavior disabilities, emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, autism spectrum, speech and language deficits, and/or developmental disabilities.
- Licensure: Special Education Teacher License (LBS-1 licensure with the State of Illinois in Special Education) in one or more of the above-mentioned disabilities.
