University Supervisor of Student Teachers in World Language Education

Job Summary
The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is seeking a pool of qualified supervisors to oversee student teachers in World Language education. This position involves mentoring teacher candidates in their semester-long student teaching internship, observing their performance, and providing formal and informal assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor teacher candidates in their student teaching internship
- Observe and assess teacher candidates' performance
- Collaborate with cooperating teachers and ISU faculty to assess professional growth and determine final grades
Requirements
- Master's degree in teaching or relevant academic field
- At least three years of World Language classroom teaching experience
- Ability to demonstrate oral proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold a current Illinois Teaching Certificate
Work Environment
This position involves working with teacher candidates, cooperating teachers, and ISU faculty to ensure a successful student teaching experience. The supervisor will be responsible for observing and assessing teacher candidates' performance, as well as collaborating with the cooperating teacher and ISU faculty to determine final grades.
