The Senior SQL Developer/Analyst is responsible for executing advanced functional and technical analysis in computer systems.

This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, requiring initiative and independent judgment while aligning with the mission of the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services to enhance existing systems.

The Analyst engages in complex technical tasks that involve the creation of information systems and technological solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze user requirements and oversee the development of automated processes.
- Participate in intricate information systems projects.
- Provide technical support to various business units.
- Extract data from Oracle databases utilizing SQL and ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) technologies.
- Utilize Microsoft Office or similar tools to generate reports for end users.
- Develop and modify intricate stored procedures using PL SQL.
- Create system documentation and status reports.
- Stay updated with professional skills in line with current information technology trends.
- Coordinate efforts with customers and other internal and external IT functional areas.

- Provide 24/7 on-call support for job failures and technical issues on a rotating basis, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when necessary.

This position collaborates with all IT Technical Teams, customers, and various IT functional areas.


Essential Functions:

- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with agency leave policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

- Monitor, maintain, and support Financials Data Warehouse (FDW) processes, systems, and interfaces, including Admin Apps Provider Payment Systems and CAPPS Financial imports.

- Support MIMS (Materials and Inventory Management System) interfaces and provide backup for Lawson applications.
- Assist in establishing and monitoring batch schedules for the aforementioned processes and systems.
- Write, debug, and maintain complex PL SQL Stored Procedures and shell scripts.
- Create, debug, and maintain Informatica Powermart ETL processes. (40%)

- Develop technical analyses and solutions for FDW systems, ensuring alignment with IT standards and existing strategies.

- Engage in application design sessions and produce deliverables by established deadlines.
- Coordinate technical solutions that address immediate needs while supporting long-term agency goals. (20%)

- Produce documentation that adheres to IT standards and State ERP standards.

- Develop work plans and collaborate with the enterprise organization to create technical solutions in compliance with state regulations.

- Generate technical documentation for internal IT staff or external clients.
- Oversee the development and review of functional documentation related to technical solutions. (20%)

- Facilitate knowledge transfer to colleagues regarding Financials Data Warehouse technical analysis and development skills.

- Mentor team members and produce documentation that aids in the development of their technical expertise.

- Provide routine status reports to the Product Support Data Services Manager in accordance with established standards.
