Reports To: Medical Imaging Operations Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Management:
- Oversees the daily functions of the Radiologic Imaging department.
- Acts as a liaison with Radiologists to address quality, safety, and protocol modifications.
- Manages the scheduling for the x-ray department across multiple locations, ensuring adequate staffing for eleven full-time employees.
- Reviews and approves time-off requests, ensuring sufficient coverage to maintain operational volume.
- Coordinates staff coverage during periods of unexpected absences.
- Monitors inventory and procures supplies for two imaging facilities.
- Conducts preliminary investigations and gathers data to resolve patient concerns promptly.
- Reviews billing and charges, liaising with finance for corrections and new charge code requests.
- Addresses equipment-related issues efficiently and escalates concerns to the Operations Manager or Director as necessary.
Staff Management:
- Assists in the recruitment and selection process for new radiologic imaging personnel.
- Prepares initial performance evaluations for new hires and conducts annual reviews for nineteen staff members.
- Maintains oversight of the Image Quality program, ensuring regular evaluations and necessary training for all x-ray technologists.
- Develops and implements training sessions for the radiologic imaging team.
- Utilizes reporting tools to ensure compliance with mandatory training, health requirements, and licensure.
- Communicates departmental updates and compliance information to all radiologic imaging staff.
- Collaborates with the Operations Manager to implement corrective action plans for policy violations and performance issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintains equipment logs and schedules maintenance for imaging devices in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensures all quality control, quality assurance, and documentation are prepared for inspections.
- Completes regulatory surveys in collaboration with the Operations Manager, aiming for compliance without major citations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Serves as a clinical instructor for radiologic technology students.
- Acts as a super user for various imaging systems and equipment.
- Manages system downtime procedures to restore operational status.
- Functions as the point of contact for the Medical Imaging Department in the absence of senior management.
Committee Participation:
- Contributes to the Radiation and MRI Safety Committee, providing data analysis and addressing safety concerns.
- Participates in monthly leadership meetings, offering insights and feedback.
- Prepares reports and attends daily operational meetings as needed.
- Engages in other assigned meetings and workgroups, contributing meaningfully.
Leadership and Excellence:
