Cashier Role Overview

At Buck's, cashiers are essential in delivering outstanding customer service by effectively managing customer transactions. Their duties include welcoming customers, scanning items, processing returns and exchanges, and finalizing sales through the cash register. In addition to these tasks, cashiers may also assist with store maintenance and inventory replenishment as required. As they often serve as the initial and concluding interaction for customers, it is vital for cashiers to provide a warm greeting and express gratitude for each customer's visit.

Primary Duties:
  • Warmly welcome customers upon their arrival and departure
  • Respond to phone inquiries in a timely and polite manner
  • Accurately scan and document product sales
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures
  • Maintain an organized and balanced cash drawer
  • Assist customers with questions and guide them to the appropriate personnel
  • Ensure the checkout area remains clean and orderly
  • Support merchandising and restocking efforts
  • Utilize communication tools to seek assistance for customers
Safety and Compliance:
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety within store areas
  • Promptly report any safety concerns
  • Handle cash and documentation in accordance with company protocols
  • Ensure adherence to security policies
  • Keep equipment in optimal working condition

Cashiers should be capable of performing physical tasks, possess strong communication skills, and prioritize customer satisfaction. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and holidays, is also important. While there may be pathways for career advancement, this role does not guarantee progression.
