Patient Care Technician Job Summary

The Dialysis Care Center is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional hemodialysis care to patients under the supervision of our registered nurses. Your primary duties will include setting up and operating dialysis machines, monitoring vital signs, and performing vascular access evaluations. You will also be responsible for communicating with patients and their families, as well as maintaining accurate records of patient care. Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate dialysis machines, ensuring accurate treatment delivery and patient safety.
  • Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight, and document patient data.
  • Perform vascular access evaluations and report any unusual findings to registered nurses.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care, including treatment plans and progress notes.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current certification as a Patient Care Technician or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
