We are seeking highly qualified postdoctoral researchers to join our team in the Design Physics Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects, collaborate with a diverse team of scientists and engineers, and develop your skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in the Design Physics Division, focusing on topics such as inertial confinement fusion, turbulence and fluid instabilities, and computational solid and fluid dynamics.
- Develop new tools, algorithms, and experiments to advance our scientific understanding and solve complex problems.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Pursue independent research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists and engineers internally and externally to the Laboratory.
- Present research results at conferences, seminars, and technical meetings, and publish research papers in top-tier scientific journals.
Qualifications
- PhD in a related physical science, engineering, or applied mathematics discipline.
- Experience in high-quality research in a relevant field, demonstrating both detailed understanding and a broad perspective.
- Demonstrated significant accomplishments in experimental science, numerical simulations and modeling, and/or the application of theoretical techniques.
- Experience developing innovative solutions to scientific and technical problems.
- Demonstrated proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
