The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Maintenance Leadership Manager will spearhead the execution of EHS standards and protocols, providing expert technical guidance on EHS matters while collaborating with functional leadership on compliance, project oversight, reporting, and associated EHS management challenges.

This position is integral to the site leadership team, focusing on planning, EHS governance, auditing, management systems, sharing best practices, compliance initiatives, and regulatory reporting.

The primary objective of this role is to cultivate a safety culture that achieves exemplary EHS performance. Strategically implement the vision across multiple sites, ensuring effective execution to enhance safety and environmental performance to top-tier standards. Key Responsibilities:

1. **Foster a Zero-Injury Safety Culture:**
Lead and mentor at each site to establish and maintain a hazard-free workplace, encourage safe work practices, and promote a lean safety culture that prioritizes employee safety as a core business value.

2. **Compliance Reporting:**
Ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety activities in accordance with Federal (OSHA and EPA), State, and local EHS regulations. 3. **EHS Record Keeping:**
Maintain comprehensive documentation and control of EHS records. 4. **Guidance and Direction:**
Provide daily support in EHS programs for managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure a unified and effective approach. 5. **Strategic Development:**
Formulate and communicate strategies to meet EHS objectives, including developing and implementing corrective action plans and conducting audits to verify effectiveness. 6. **Risk Assessment:**
Identify potential environmental risks and create mitigation strategies to minimize incidents. 7. **Incident Investigation:**
Ensure prompt investigation of environmental, health, and safety incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures. 8. **Training Programs:**
Develop and deliver training to meet regulatory requirements and operational needs. 9. **Emergency Preparedness:**
Organize and assess regular emergency drills, including fire evacuations and other critical situations. 10. **Maintenance Management:**
Oversee all maintenance activities, including managing the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program and coordinating with plant leadership to prioritize machine repairs based on business needs.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety Management, Environmental Management, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 10 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing context. Experience in metals manufacturing is advantageous. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of personal integrity, demonstrate leadership capabilities, and have a proven track record in driving change initiatives.

Comprehensive knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and engage staff across various levels of the organization. Experience in supervising and developing EHS professionals, as well as familiarity with process improvement methodologies, will be beneficial.


Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and engage in moderate climbing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and reaching.


Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility, characterized by moderate noise levels and varying atmospheric conditions, with both temperature-controlled office and manufacturing areas.
