Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Utility Worker to join our team at Huron Valley Schools. As a key member of our Maintenance and Operations department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform custodial duties, including cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, emptying trash and recyclables, and restocking supplies.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
  • Operate various equipment, including lawn mowers, snow blowers, and cleaning machines.
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing grass, trimming bushes, and removing snow and ice.
  • Assist with special events and projects, such as setup and teardown of equipment and supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid chauffeur's license with all endorsements issued by the State of Michigan.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The employee will be required to work in a variety of settings, including indoors and outdoors, and may be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, and other environmental hazards.

The employee must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure, and must be able to lift and move heavy objects as needed. The employee must also be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
