Position Summary:
As a Thin Film Process Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in addressing complex technical challenges in thin film deposition for Micron's next-generation memory devices. Your expertise will be essential in taking innovative concepts from initial development through to manufacturing implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and refine thin film processes to fulfill the specifications of cutting-edge Advanced NAND technology.
2. Conduct fundamental research to foster innovative solutions for future products.
3. Collaborate with process integration and other development teams to devise creative solutions.
4. Optimize deposition processes to minimize costs, reduce variability, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance process capabilities.
5. Perform root cause and failure mode analyses to identify limitations in existing hardware and work with vendors to implement solutions.
6. Maintain a pilot manufacturing line for technology development.
7. Assist in the transfer of processes to production facilities, which may involve some travel.

Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience with thin film deposition techniques (ALD, CVD, PVD) and characterization methods.
- Strong understanding of thin film growth and characterization principles.
- Familiarity with thermodynamics and chemical kinetics as they relate to film deposition; knowledge of plasma processing is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to utilize technical knowledge to inform project decisions and strategies.
- Proficient in data analysis, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical methods; experience in data science is a plus.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project commitments.
- Strong multitasking skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Willingness to learn new skills as necessary.
- Programming or scripting experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of semiconductor processing, solid-state device physics, and thin film deposition or plasma physics is beneficial.

Education:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related technical fields. Extensive process development experience may be considered in lieu of a Ph.D.
