Public Safety Officer

Advocate Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Safety Officer to join our team at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. As a Public Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
Key Responsibilities- Provide security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion in challenging circumstances.
- Perform routine responsibilities during interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security.
- Prevent, respond to, and investigate workplace violence.
- Investigate incidents that occur on Advocate Aurora property and complete timely and accurate reports.
- Liaison with state and local law enforcement and first responder agencies.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in a security, related public safety, or customer service area.
- Illinois team members must have completed State of Illinois 40-hour armed course with semi-automatic pistol endorsement.
- Willingness to carry a department authorized firearm while on duty.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to push/pull with 35 lbs. of force. Must possess the hand strength, dexterity, and ability to safely operate a firearm.
