About Qcells North America:
Qcells North America, based in Irvine, CA, is a leader in the development of utility-scale solar modules, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and battery energy storage solutions (BESS). We provide comprehensive Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for solar and BESS projects across the nation.

Role Overview:
The Senior Project Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering Center team, contributing to all phases of project design and execution.

This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering or another designated management personnel.

Travel Requirements:
This role may require travel up to 30% of the time.


Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the company's attendance policy;
- Review and analyze technical documentation including site studies, reports, and permits to assess design, cost, or schedule impacts;
- Develop, review, and manage drawing packages, energy production models, bills of materials, scopes of work, and other technical project documentation;
- Oversee the technical requirements throughout all phases of project development and design;
- Assist in the formulation and evaluation of energy production models, project timelines, cost estimates, bills of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards, and supplier quotes;
- Coordinate internal resources for expertise and project risk mitigation;
- Engage external resources such as structural, civil, and electrical engineering consultants, geotechnical and topographic surveyors, and other specialized professionals as necessary;
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals for designing and delivering PV and BESS projects;
- Foster continuous improvements in project designs, plans, processes, and product development;
- Provide technical training to team members and new hires;
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure clear communication and successful outcomes;
- Prepare conceptual designs for solar projects;
- Create bid packages for subcontractors;
- Conduct energy generation modeling for solar initiatives;
- Lead technical efforts in the preparation of EPC proposals;
- Assist in fieldwork with site visits as required;
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline;
- At least 8 years of professional engineering experience within the solar sector;
- Relevant experience in the design and development of power generation facilities;
- Willingness to travel, with a minimum of 30% travel required;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent software);
- Familiarity with photovoltaic performance modeling tools (preferably PVSyst);
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Experience with project scheduling tools (MS Project or equivalent);
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code;
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities;
- Assertive, capable of handling pressure, and a team-oriented mindset;
- Previous experience managing projects from initial design through installation and execution is preferred;
- Experience navigating permitting processes with local authorities is preferred.

Salary Information:
The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $140,000 - $175,000 annually.


Physical Requirements:
- Frequently remains stationary for up to 90% of the time;
- Infrequently bends, stands, stoops, and/or walks;
- Occasionally carries or lifts objects weighing up to 10 pounds;
- Regularly communicates verbally and must be able to hear and speak;
- Frequently uses sight to view computer screens and office documents;
- Occasionally ascends or descends stairs;
- Up to 30% travel may be required.

Work Environment:
- Regular office business setting with noise levels ranging from low to moderate;
- Moderate to high noise levels may be encountered on construction sites.
