Job Summary

As a CT Technologist at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. Your expertise will be essential in performing computed tomography procedures, evaluating radiographs, and preparing patients for scanning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex CT procedures, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Evaluate radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers.
  • Determine patient preparedness for procedures, including shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Assist providers with CT-guided interventional procedures as required.
  • Administer contrast and perform CT examinations according to established departmental protocols.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients, addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to guidelines.
  • Monitor patient physical condition during procedures.
  • Review images to determine additional scans needed for diagnostic value.
  • Perform retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
  • Adhere to infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
  • Revises scanning parameters to better visualize pathology according to established protocol.
  • Review diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Document diagnostic, treatment, and patient data in the appropriate record.
  • Archive images to data storage devices according to guidelines.
  • Assess equipment to determine acceptable performance based on established guidelines.
  • Perform daily clerical duties, including the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, and other computer systems.
  • Greet patients upon arrival, utilizing AIDET standards.
  • Administer emergency care, including performing CPR if necessary.
  • Responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Overtime as needed to provide quality patient care.
  • On-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiography.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
