Patterns LLC is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in White Plains, NY. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of the nurse manager or Registered Professional Nurse, you will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
- You will have an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeons.
- You will ensure quality patient care during operative procedures and maintain sterile technique.
- You will check supplies and equipment prior to surgical procedures.
- You will scrub, set up, count, and assist intra-operatively.
- You will maintain the highest standard of sterile technique.
- You will assist the surgeon and RN with post-procedure care.
- You will handle specimens appropriately.
- You will prepare instruments for decontamination.
- You will assist with preparing/picking OR cases.
- You will follow WPH policies and procedures for Infection Control and Fire Code.
- You will identify malfunctioning equipment appropriately.
- You will follow patient safety standards.
- You will respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- You will complete competency requirements.
- You will attend all mandatory in-services.
- You will utilize cost containment practices.
- You will complete 15 hours of Continuing Education Credits as required by New York State Law.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must meet one of the following:
- Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited program and holds and maintains CST certification.
- Completed a military surgical technology program.
- Is grandfathered.
- Prior experience as Surgical Technologist preferred.
- Certification by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization.
