Job Title: Software Engineering Manager 2 - Integration & Test

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager 2 to lead a team of software developers in the Integration & Test department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full software development life cycle, including design, implementation, and delivery of software products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of software developers in the Integration & Test department
  • Manage the full software development life cycle, including design, implementation, and delivery of software products
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems
  • Responsible for managing and reporting budget and schedule status for software
  • Supports budget and IMS task planning based on received Budget Advice and associated TAs in coordination with SW IPT, SW Development Leads, SW Architects, and Product Owners
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development, OR a Master's degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development
  • Prior leadership experience using agile development, including participating as Product Owner, SCRUM Master, and/or team member in an Agile development environment
  • Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented architecture and programming, software integration and testing
  • At least 4 years of recent relevant experience with at least two of the following programming or scripting languages: Java, Python, Go, C++, C#, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, or KornShell
  • Experience with Cloud technologies and service providers
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active/Current Special Program Access
  • An advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM discipline
  • Advanced technical management degree
  • Prior experience in engineering functional management is a plus
  • Proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience leading a team of 5-12 employees with a record of on-time performance
  • Previous experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate)
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities
  • Prior experience with cost account management and task/resource planning
  • Advanced experience with at least one of the following databases: Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch
  • Advanced experience with at least one of the following container management tools: Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Docker Swarm, Nomad, Redhat OpenShift
  • Experience with application and container security
  • Experience with Machine Learning Model development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience with Java microservices, Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications, threading, intermediate object-oriented programming, design patterns, Data Distribution Service (DDS) messaging, web technologies, Unified Modeling Language (UML), database essentials and SQL/NoSQL
  • Prior experience using Atlassian Tool Suite, JIRA, SonarQube
