CAD Technician Job Description

Verdantas is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting project managers with technical design through CAD, producing accurate drawings and illustrations, and developing preliminary site layouts and grading plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist project managers with technical design through CAD, utilizing AutoCAD and related software programs.
  • Produce simple to complex, accurate drawings and illustrations in accordance with company standards.
  • Develop preliminary site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and profiles, entrance plans, cross-sections, profiles, and other details.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the company, mentoring others and helping develop and implement training programs.
  • Assist with drawing reproduction, plan set assembly, distribution, and filing.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a relative associate degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience performing design-related work in a civil engineering environment.
  • Experience with Civil 3D required.
  • Knowledge of civil plans and relationships among sheet types within a plan set.
  • Able to work from rough sketches or verbal discussions to assist engineers in the development of simple drawings with minimal guidance and complex drawings with some guidance.
  • Candidate should be a critical thinker, be willing to learn through trial and error, be self-motivated, and be willing to put the full effort towards the task at hand.
