Before and After School Care Provider

About the Role:

As an ESS Education team member, you will play a vital part in supporting the educational and personal needs of students in before and after school programs. Under the direction of a program director and/or school administrator, you will assist with instructional, behavior management, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide instructional reinforcement to assist with homework for individual students and/or small groups of students.
  • Assist with management and general supervision of the students, following the programs established routines and procedures.
  • Serve as the chief source of information and help to any substitute assigned.
  • Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans.
  • Supervise and observe student behavior and progress.
  • Assist with administrative duties as directed such as setting up equipment, preparing materials, etc.
  • Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs; help with translation and hygienic needs when necessary.
  • Promote a safe and orderly environment; take all reasonable precautions to protect students, facilities, and materials.
  • Assist with arrival and departure of students.
  • Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in performing other related duties as assigned by school administration and ESS.
  • Understand and adhere to all ESS and school district policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid NJ criminal history letter.
  • Negative tuberculosis test obtained within 6 months of initial employment.
