About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications FPGA Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our engineering center, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex high-speed FPGA applications using the latest FPGA platform technologies and development flows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop FPGA application specifications from customer requirements
  • Architect, design, and document the FPGA application from specifications
  • Implement FPGA designs targeting the latest FPGA platform technologies
  • Verification of FPGA applications in system lab environments
  • Partner with various FPGA support teams to support the FPGA environment
Requirements
  • Typically requires minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience in FPGA engineering
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI or higher clearance
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge with telecommunications and/or signal processing concepts
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and document FPGA designs from component level specifications
  • Strong comprehension of HDL programming languages such as VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog
  • Strong comprehension of FPGA development environments and FPGA development tool flows
  • Experience with software languages used to interface to FPGA applications (Matlab, Python, C)
  • Experience working with CCA and SW development teams to interface with FPGA components
  • Experience with the resolution of FPGA integration and test issues in hands-on lab environments
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
