Apheresis Nurse

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Apheresis RN to join our team. As an Apheresis RN, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care in a variety of therapeutic apheresis modalities, including therapeutic plasma exchange, RBC exchange and depletion, WBC and PLT depletions, PBSC and WBC collections, Photopheresis, and LDL apheresis.

• Provide direct patient care in multiple apheresis modalities, including therapeutic plasma exchange, RBC exchange and depletion, WBC and PLT depletions, PBSC and WBC collections, Photopheresis, and LDL apheresis.
• Assess patients' responses to therapeutic apheresis and make appropriate adjustments and modifications to the treatment plan as indicated by the appropriately credentialed physician.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, supervisors, hospital staff, coworkers, patients, and families.
• Participate in staff meetings and mandatory continuing education as scheduled and participates in staff training and orientation as assigned.
• Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.) or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Science.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which employed.
• Certification in Apheresis Nursing is highly encouraged.
• Peripheral vein cannulation abilities preferred.
• One year of RN experience required.
• One-year of Apheresis or ICU/CCU/ED experience preferred.

The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be potential for exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials. Position provides direct patient care which regularly involves heavy lifting, moving of patient and/or equipment > 200-lbs (with mechanical assistance).
