Job Overview

Position: Operations Manager

Location: West Jordan, UT

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee our logistics operations. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with a minimum of 3 years of progressive management experience in the distribution or transportation sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily oversight of warehouse personnel and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate transportation rates with carriers
  • Ensure operations prioritize safety and efficiency
  • Manage daily financial transactions and bank deposits
  • Compile and submit daily operational reports to corporate
  • Review labor and billing reports for accuracy
  • Address customer needs and service issues promptly
  • Document and resolve service-related concerns
  • Enforce compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with staff
  • Assist in budget management for the site and department
  • Schedule staff shifts according to operational demands
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new employees
  • Oversee accurate data entry for all operational activities
  • Complete daily closing procedures, including cash balancing and payroll processing
Qualifications:
  • Flexibility with shift schedules, including weekends and holidays
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management role within an industrial environment
  • Proven ability to train and mentor warehouse staff
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment
  • Experience managing budgets and interpreting financial statements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word
  • Strong numerical aptitude and mental math skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs
Education and Experience:
  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, or supply chain management preferred
  • Degree in Business or related field is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising warehouse teams, including hiring and training
  • History of delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients
