Job Title: Postpartum Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Postpartum Nurse to join our team at Inova Fairfax Hospital. As a Postpartum Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to new mothers and their babies.

Job Summary:

The Postpartum Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care to postpartum patients, including monitoring their physical and emotional well-being, providing education on self-care and newborn care, and supporting breastfeeding. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and provide exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care to postpartum patients, addressing their physical and emotional needs
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, lab results, and other health indicators
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, including education on self-care and newborn care
  • Support breastfeeding and provide guidance on lactation
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting
  • Two years of postpartum care experience preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
