Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Postpartum Unit

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Postpartum Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to new mothers and their babies.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting, with a strong preference for postpartum care experience. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, including monitoring their physical and emotional well-being, administering medications, and educating patients and families on postpartum care and newborn health.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition, including vital signs, medication administration, and laboratory results.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on postpartum care, newborn health, and breastfeeding.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
  • Strong preference for postpartum care experience.
